Lanes Group is fully committed to providing all employees the skill and capability to do the best job they are able to do, and to do it safely.

We have built this multi-million pound business on a strong health and safety culture, supported by continued training. Alongside this, we operate a training programme which delivers a wide range of practical topics and business disciplines.

Where there is no appropriate course, we have developed one: our City & Guilds foundation in drainage, for instance, gives field engineers a recognised industry accreditation. And we plan to incorporate that into an NVQ level 2 Apprenticeship in Drainage Operations to be accredited by CABWI (The Certification and Assessment Board for the Water Industry).

Customer-facing staff may achieve NVQs in sales, admin and customer care, through our training partner, National Training Academy. NTA also devised a TLC (‘tender loving care’) series of workshops for us, focusing specifically on customer service behaviours.

We have enlisted Aspire Development to deliver Institute of Leadership Management courses which deal with strategy formulation, leadership behaviours and establishing team cultures. We believe it is important that our management team develops new skills too.
